RE: Bleach on Rubber Roof?

With a 1997 Class C, I assume it IS an EPDM roof. TPO is NOT "EPDM".
A very light concentration of bleach will remove those spots. Perhaps one cup in five gallons of water - let it sit on the roof surface for a few minutes - then rinse and rinse. Don't leave it on there and wait for results - it will lighten them over time and with the sun.
This IS just a cosmetic fix. I use PROTECTALL's sealer on the cleaned roof, and I think it slows the formation of the spots.

RE: You're gonna laugh at this one - fork in black tank!!!!!!!

There are different grades of "stainless", and some are magnetic. My set from Macy's is.
After reading this post and all the replies - I think having magnetic silveware is a GOOD IDEA for an RV - and it should remind us about some of the other things we might have near drains and other "problem" areas.
Personally, I'm still having a problem with the part about the dishwashing pot getting NEAR the toilet!

RE: Privacy Laws/Non-disclosure?

This is not unusual. If it were YOUR trailer, you wouldn't want YOUR information being given. If you have concerns, force the dealer to provide records and proof of the history - or walk!

RE: Hood won't close and No House Electric/gen working

If you have a cable operated hood release, try WD-40 on the mechanism and related latches - they can get "gummed-up".
Your step may have caught and "cut" the wire - no evil plan there! Steps get replaced due damage, and there are many different ways to wire them to get "night light" operation, key-switch operation, etc. It's very common to see messy wiring jobs around the steps - and that increases the chance for damage to the wires!
Yes, the generator starts on HOUSE batteries - so there's no coincidence in the malfunction. New batteries CAN be suspect, but you'd do well to invest in a cheap multi-meter and to learn it's simple use. Most people replace batteries after "trouble" - was that your situation? Lots of coaches are traded because of electrical issues, and the next owner has to sort them out. The GOOD NEWS is the new owner eventually KNOWS that motorhome well.
Being on shore power, you have 12V supplied by your converter - and that might mask 12V power problems that drained the batteries while unplugged.
You'd be better served to join the YAHOO GROUP serving Navion/Views. They're a very dedicated and experienced bunch!

RE: Rubber roof seperation-only on edges..

The EPDM material can shrink slightly, and I suspect what you're seeing is the edges pulling away from the cover strip molding. You might mask off above and below the area (somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 inch - to cover the gap), and cover with DICOR LAP SEALANT. I smoothed it out with my finger, leaving a strip wide and deep enough to hold, seal, and cover the gap. If left unsealed, the cover strip/molding will surely channel water directly inside the walls.
Dicor also makes a non-runny version - not "self-leveling - of LAP SEALANT which can be used on vertical surfaces or in situations needing more control. It's difficult to find.

I've had two claims - both ended as well as could be expected. They haven't increased my rates as a result, and I've been treated well.

RE: Leaning Motorhome

That sounds pretty severe - certainly not just a weight issue. Find a truck spring specialty shop and have it fully evaluated.
You might get better results on this forum by telling specifics - make, model, chassis, etc.

RE: black lines appearing on rv ceiling

First - not ALL mold is "toxic", so could we please stop yelling "FIRE" in the theatre?
Straight lines going from side to side probably indicate roof trusses, plywood seams, and adhesive bleed-through. The random lines and circles sound less definite. Someone more familiar with the structure and assembly of this model MH would be better able to pinpoint the cause.

RE: BUYING A USED RV PRIVATE PARTY...help ??

WHY is everyone thinking that "upside down" means this might be a BAD DEAL? I suspect the majority of "good deals" would be upsidedown.
I had TWO similar deals that went bad. The only problem that couldn't be overcome by using various procedures was the lenders wouldn't produce the actual TITLE for as much as FOUR WEEKS - and my state requires the TITLE for me to register the vehicle. I'd have a motorhome I couldn't use until (and IF!) the title arrived. Until the title does arrive, the motorhome could have an attachment or siezure put on it under the former owner's name - and both of these sellers were likely candidates for other bank, IRS, and business lawsuits. Sure, a lawyer MIGHT be able to get it released, but I don't want the problems or costs. Too much risk for me.
People borrowing from big companies need to realize that being able to walk into the bank and do a fast exchange is PRICELESS when selling!

RE: Spinal Depcompression? Experience anyone?

I know someone who did it. Not covered by insurance - $5000. Heck, the ads in the paper down south didn't even given an address or doctors name - I was wary!
Results: The person who did it thinks it helped"a little", but he's still compaining of the same problems and going for manipultions and therapy as often as before.
I'd look for MUCH MORE data and reports - and for the isurance company to accept the procedure.

RE: License plate seen on an RV

I start laughing when I see these plates - most of them are on "not much" of an RV or an old wreck. Those kids were probably going to be left with a pile of bills regardless!

RE: Self induced power problem

It's possible you sent a shock through the electric 12V system and blew out some components. I suggest tracking power from each source with a multimeter until you find where it stops. Intellitec has an excellent tech support line, and I can personally assure you they treat foolish-seeming calls with extra care. I was able to repair my similar experience with Intellitec's help and a new main board - and electricity is not a strength of mine! If this sort of troubleshooting isn't something with which you're comfortable, get someone with some RV familiarity to check it for you.

RE: Keep our 1994 pace arrow or buy new Super Nova??

First, get those brakes fixed!
I have a 1994 PA too. For the three years I've had it, I've been saying I was trading to a DP. There were a few close deals, but I never finalized them because of various problems. "BUYING" is hard!
The upside of all this is that having kept the old PA has been the best situation given the economy, the used RV market, and my usage of the unit. It's in great shape (I'm never afraid to spend money on it!), and I figure it isn't falling much more in value. Like your husband, I love it when I use it alone - but once there's "more" it's too tight. I'm on seasonal sites, so I only have 20K miles - and that won't be increasing much. All "fine" for me - BUT I wouldn't dream of driving this unit on that sort of trip - especially until you have the brakes fixed!
I would have a hard time justifying financing a new unit these days - the immediate depreciation is astounding. If it's work related and written-off, that might be workable. One thing's for sure, that old PA won't be around forever - and you'll be revisiting this question repeatedly.

RE: Camping World Sponsorship

Camping World DOESN'T have all that money to waste - they're not doing well either. The "head guy" has the racing-bug, and he's romanced himself into thinking this is a good use of company money.

RE: Has anyone had Lazy Days deliver your new motorhome to you ?

Lazydays was sold a couple of years ago, and I would NOT expect the new management to be like the old. Yes, they DO these long distance transactions, but with the problems Monaco is having and with the viability of some of the Monaco dealerships - I wouldn't want to count on getting warranty repairs done away from LazyDays. I would do it if it were the only way.

RE: input on hughes autoformer voltage regulator

Check the website - be sure to get the NEW model. CW was adverising what I believe is the old model on sale last circular. I called Hughes about my older 50 AMP model - they told me the spike protection is not as much as might be needed - I should also add a surge guard. So far, the older model has been good for me. My ACs were making burning smells after 5 or 10 minutes, and now they run well. In this seasonal park, several of the people on the same run of wiring have bought autoformers. We're all happy about the purchases. Just hearing the difference in the sound of our Fantastic Vents tells us we needed these.

RE: WOW, they are reading what we post.....

I'm encouraged to read your post. When I visit any dealership that's been mentioned on The Forum, I always mention I read about them here. Usually, SALES people have no interest - service departments seem more interested. As the industry evolves from the current crisis, dealers will realize that the Internet "buzz" can affect their business more than before - and I hope they'll be more responsive. I ask that all readers mention this forum wherever they shop - it will increase our power as a group, and that will help us to get better service and response from dealers. Now that the small dealers are closing or in fear of closing, losing customers is a big threat - and we are A LOT of customers!

RE: QUOTE FROM PROGRESSIVE $350 W/ROAD SERVICE

That's a great rate!
I had two claims which went well. I had a slight problem with the second adjuster, but I wouldn't have fared better with any other company.
I like that they have special adjuters for RV issues, and I'm not dealing with someone who doesn't know anything about a RV.

RE: Tow Truck cost for a Motorhome.

GOOD SAM ERS! Many people here love to BASH GS, but I've had very good luck with them. First tow - overheated brake caliper - they towed it from MY HOME to a garage I chose (not the closest!) about 25 miles away. Second - a wrecker was sent 40 miles to fix my locked steering column - no tow necesary. Third - a blowout - a wrecker came to me and changed to my spare (My MH is so "OLD", it has a spare!) - the bill was $290. Fourth - the following day, a tow of 15 miles after it was discovered the blowout had wrecked my brakes - charge was $350. Each time, I asked the tow truck driver about GS - each said they paid well and quickly! After all that, I was worried I might get cancelled - GS assured me they had NO LIMIT for the number of calls - they are only concerned if someone is trying to rip them off. Nice!
My only other tow was 30 miles - private pay - $550.
